Oxford

August 17, 2012

This will be a short post, as we were only in Oxford for one night. Oxford of course, is known primarily for Oxford University and its other beautiful buildings. Oxford has 38 Colleges, the most popular for tourists to visit is Christ Church due to its grandeur and Harry Potter affiliation. We were going to visit, but decided not to after seeing the queue!

Instead we went to Magdalen College (pronounced mawd-lin). Apparently this is one of the prettiest colleges. It came complete with a deer park (although we didn’t see any deer). Here are a few photos from Magdalen.

The rest of our time was spent wandering around enjoying the sights of the town.

Oxford is a worthwhile day trip to do from London, but you definitely join the masses of other tourists who have the same idea! Our next stop is Bath, site of ancient Roman Baths, located on the UK’s hottest geothermal spring.
